Call for Global Fight Against Racism, State Terrorism
Bangladesh Students Union has expressed solidarity in the ongoing fight against racism in the United States. The solidarity was conveyed today (Friday, June 5, 2020) at eleven o’clock local time in the morning at a rally in Shahbag, maintaining a safe social distance.
Mehdi Hassan Noble, central president of Bangladesh Students’ Union, said at the solidarity rally, “The whole world is infected with the coronavirus today. But the bigger epidemic than this coronavirus is racism and sectarianism. The fight against these two viruses must continue.”
Speakers at the rally expressed solidarity with the agitating masses in the United States. At the same time, everyone is called to unite against the culture of disappearance, and murder in Bangladesh.
Anik Roy, central general secretary of BSU, said, “Racism exists not only in the United States but also in Bangladesh. We have seen ruthless persecution of indigenous people is carried out with the help of the state. I have seen Kalpana Chakma and Rommel Chakma disappear and be killed. There is no way out of this situation without a united struggle.”
