Message Sent on 5th January 2020, Dhaka

RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) barged into Jawaharlal Nehru University this evening and allegedly beat up students and teachers, leaving many injured, including the chief of the students’ union, who was bleeding heavily when she was taken to hospital. The JNUSU has alleged that the attack was orchestrated by the RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). The JNUSU has alleged that ABVP “goons” pelted stones and also vandalised the property at the Sabarmati hostel.
Aishe Ghosh, the president of the JNUSU said, “I have been brutally attacked by goons wearing masks. I have been bleeding. I was brutally beaten up.”

“We condemns this brutal attack in JNU. This attack proves that the character of the governments is same beyond the border line. We believe this type of violences can’t destroy the fighting spirit of the protestors. The victory of the protesting peoples is certain.” – Hasan and Roy.

Bangladesh Students’ Union has expressed condemnation for this brutal attack on the students and teachers of JNU. This attack shows that the fascist government of India is fearing any democratic protests. That’s why they are using their armed goons on the protesters. The students and progressive, democratic protesters of Bangladesh have been facing similar threats by the ruling parties.

BSU president Mehdi Hasan Nobel and general secretary Anik Roy said, “We condemns this brutal attack in JNU. This attack proves that the character of the governments is the same beyond the borderline. We believe this type of violence can’t destroy the fighting spirit of the protesters. The victory of the protesting peoples is certain.”
